Ok so Paul raised a very valid point about some of the MvP's being too cheap at standard price while I think double the price may be 'too' much (a giant costing over 40mc seems a bit too much). Would a happy balance be 6mc - means low cost MvP's could show up in moderate underdog games while giants & big MvP's would need over a 25Mc team differance? Also I'm going to start adding these to my pack and take out some of the teams not in use in the league - here are all current MvP's to date - also I will be darting a thread of spare players for sale soon too

I think 6mc is a fair starting point for MVP's. I do think the number should be limited as we are allowing dice and cards to be purchased and not auctioning and as Dan said is fairly time consuming to run. This should encourage use of your existing players and should mean some of the experience points dont get hogged by star players, if not limited its almost be possible to field a full MVP starting line up against the Black Sun Amazons as even with the 6mc premium you could get a full MVP team for as little as 84mc!
We will learn alot through the next few weeks and decide on the best way forward for any future leagues.

Yep - the rate we are going we should have league tied off in coming months as be able to see what worked / didn't - when we have all done the 2 games I have an idea for the exhibition match

I have been reading online about another clubs beginner league. They played similar to us in that you could purchase cards and dice as welll as MVP's. They had everything cost 1.5x the base value and found that kept the balance. They said on some matches with a large underdog bonus the underdog team ended up being overpowered with dice if just the base cost was used.
Might be worth considering at some point, we dont want to keep changing throughout the league. Thought I'd share as it sounded sensible.

Well max dice & card limit is 7 to start as part of the game rules so everyone knows - but lets stick with +6mc to MvP's and maybe next league we can have a shuffle round

Playing with a giant was fun. I think for the next league we would need to review the cost as I think they should be for special occasions and bit be used frequently. It did seen overpowered but I would need to play more games. I think the bigger problem is that we are all new to the game and stil learning the tactics if our teams. To play against a team with a giant you need to review how you play and adapt your tactics. I think in most cases you need to play an avoidance tactic and limit the impact of the giant and use your increased numbers.

Totally agree on the review - the 1.5x cost I am leaning towards for next league and starting as base team too - but lets see how this one ends up - it may be a bit wonky but seems to work at present

totally agree that we need to stick with it through this league. it's always a risk to make decisions on the few games we play, the further we go with the current league the more informed we will be for next time.

the one in the chair neminds me of Patches O'Hoolahan from Dodgeball, I can just see him shouting from the sideline Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge. The Rat also has a splinter vibe going on, might just have to get him to go with the Teratons! I can see a TMNT theme.

Yep they have some cool poses and themes - Orky is hiding a mallet behind his back too.
Also I totally agree on the dodge ball theme! 'If you can dodge a car! You can dodge a dodge ball!'

Hey great film and a perfect match for dreadball especially all the wacky teams all we need now is Chuck Norris as a judge? Or as Dan is the league sponse does that make him Chuck Norris? Or maybe more Will Shatner??
Then the question is who has the hair for David Hasslehoff??
