The animals will be miniatures and will play an important part of the game. The butchers dog for example will be able to do small attacks and I can't stop imagining some sort if rule where it will run off with the ball lol. Each one will give a specific bonus to the team or the players around it.

I've heard talk already about pirates and miners - tbh there is a whole lot of good themes with just humans that is not exploited in many fantasy games - getting more excited the more i see!

They have announced the Brewers Guild and it looks like there is a mercenary team too. Can't wait to see more stat cards.

How was the practice game? Any snippets of info on the game in general? Also the 3 ppl in my pledge I sent round FB messages just about all the pledge add ons to get the numbers up The game was good fun. Partly because I won 3-1 it has to be said. The rules are simpler than they seem at first read which is handy as there is a lot of character card stuff to remember. The Momentum Points rules are genius as they reward you for passing the ball amongst your team, and give you extra moves, healing, extra dice, defence, etc. Another interesting feature is Influence Points which are basically actions. Each team gets an amount at the start of each round and you have to hand them out to your players before the activations start. This is probably the bit that is trickiest as it is easy to give a figure more actions than they really need and deprive another figure of actions. I reckon that once you are familiar with the rules a game should take 45 min to an hour. It is the first to 3 goals or wipe out the opposing team. The combat is more tactical than lethal so killing the whole opposing team could be quite difficult. I hope you all take the opportunity to have a go at the game as it is. I have been able to ask a few questions and make some observations on the GuildBall FB page. The guys there seem to be pretty keen on feedback which should help them produce a more polished set of rules in the end. All I did to prepare was copy the pictures of the players from the website onto card standups, then tape those standups onto spare plastic bases. The only other things needed are the stat cards, a couple of goals, a load of d6s and a scatter template. They have only released the stat cards for Fishermen and Butchers so far but hopefully they will release the rest before we need to choose teams. If you want a game I'm more than happy to play or ref for two players.
