OK, so I have a dilemma. I like BIG models... there I said it, its out there. For me bigger is better. I look at the Warmachine Colossals, Horde Gargantuans.... Imperial Knights and more with glee and would love to get my grubby mitts on them all. Whilst I am a great fan of Malifaux, it lacks the BIG model thing. I loved converting and kit-bashing my Ork Stompa. However.... my experience is that, whilst fun to build and paint, these become expensive dust collectors that rarely see the light of day. Given that I like converting to, what I ideally would like is a game where I can use BIG models and convert them. This is why I went for Orks in 40K but the rules change and such means that I can't use my converted Stompa's with all the fancy rules from Apocalypse with the Gutbuster cannon, the Megadeath arsenal and all fun bits. 40K is also expensive and getting more so with a new edition (again....). WM/Hordes has some appeal but again can't just use big models. Found a GREAT conversion of a Cygnar colossal but again it would never see light of day as WM/Hordes does not welcome conversions really... www.beastsofwar.com/groups/painting/forum/topic/cygnar-colossal-conversion/So what game could I play whereby I can use BIG stuff, use conversions (proper conversions... not just weapon swap or pose-change) and have good fun? Does one exist!? Ideally it would be modern/future or such... but not too fussed in that sense.

you can use collossals/gargantuans when ever you want aslong as you have the pts to pay for it and if you have one in your army

Victory Decision or Battlefield Evolution World at War with the Gear Krieg expansion. WW2 mecha. There are no official models any more so you need to kitbash.

Hmm is that dead because the game sucked....
Can I just do my Mega-Stompa vs..... ? though I guess you just take big anti tank guns and shoot.... guess that would get kind of dull

you can use collossals/gargantuans when ever you want aslong as you have the pts to pay for it and if you have one in your army Ok so say I took a Colossal. That would mean 20 pts or so taken up. That could be half the force. Is a colossal equivalent to half a force to make up for the one model? My limited experience of warmachine is that everything ends up in a big melee fest at the end of the day... most units want to get into or near to melee. And ranged attacks have a pretty short range compared to other games, further enhancing the melee / close-quarters aspect. A colossal appears to be the equivalent of 2 heavy warjacks (or there abouts). It's the colossal that really draw me in. They all look pretty awesome but in terms of game effectiveness? One big model is easy to avoid... unless they have some way of extending or making up for the lack of units. Not so drawn by the gargantuans... The Imperial Knights in 40K could be interesting but from what I have read..... options are severely limited and in reality the ruleset doesn't really take into account BIG models. Capturing objectives and such become redundant....

I think if you could find people that use LoW's all the time you could have some fun games. Just fliers and LoW & vehicles I a capture the relic - sounds like fun to me!0

The colossal can still fire there guns while in mêlée and your are right they are sort of equivalent to 2 warjacks . Some work better than others but I can say theta my rhulic one rocks and has made my dwarves more competitive . Not only that they look great
