So the game designer runs a living FAQ on dreadball that I drop into now and then through his Quickworty blog. But he also posts now and then about ideas to progress the game and also to take feedback from the players (Yes you & me) and it seems that he is testing some experimental rules. Now obviously with them being experimental these are not official to the league we are currently playing however they could be used in test games or friendlies if you wanted to. I have copied the core of the change and added a link to it:

Now this will change effectiveness of Jacks and give them a new role in really disrupting play, but it also reduces the speed of strikers and add a bit more to the Jack roll. I think these changes will go a little way to the only issues i see in the game (I do think Strikers are the bee's knees and seem to have very little draw back so teams without them tend to suffer). From my thoughts these changes will allow you to pin down strikers more effectively but then it would also mean that Jacks really are in the game to shove people amount and move to block plays which I think they originally were planned to be used as, while often they seem like shot blockers or place sitters in games (Excluding some of the more effective Jacks for races like Fems & Asterians).
What do you guys think of this tweak and what things do you think seem unbalanced in the game?
So, without further ado, two rules tweaks: one small and one large.
The small change is to allow Jacks to use any Special Move card. So, if a card says Striker, read that as Striker or Jack. If it says Guard, read that as Guard or Jack.
The second change is to do with the role(s) that get a bonus for certain actions. The idea is to move some from Strikers to Jacks. So Dash and Evade becomes +1 if the player is a Jack (not a Striker), and Stand Up becomes +1 if the player was either a Jack or a Striker.
