Damn GW for this. I find myself sorely tempted. Interesting they can play as an army in their own right or an allied detachment of up to three. Wonder who they can ally with. ..

Very cool - I like The Lord O Wars that they are creating - Necrons, Chaos, Ork, IG & now these are all on GW lines and I won't say the kits are cheap but they hit the middle ground between GW & FW for price. I guess for those playing LoW games these can be a cool addition.

These are soooo nice. I'm hoping they sit around the current LoW pricepoint, but gut feeling says £100. Still be tempted for 2 though!

5 Errant knights give you an 1850 army! So go all in!
I was slightly disappointed that the new marine codex didn't get a big robot but now I should be able to fill that void. The stance of them reminds me of the old warlord titans from the adeptus titanicus box set.

The last thing Marines should have is a big robot! Marines are shock troops, and I was more than relieved when they didn't get a dreadknight/riptide equivalent. Marines are dependant on the IG/Navy/ titan legions etc for other kinds of support. These are worthy allies though. And it bodes well for future release for the other races too. A LoW for each race in plastic would be very cool indeed!

Yep I agree - Aloied big Titan type thing is good for marines and a plastic LoW for every race sounds good - shame Nids got missed on this, but then they have enough big gribblies to make you think they have LoWs everywhere.

Tyrannids aren't losing out. They have two variants of the hierodules and have some new large scale monsters released in the next few months by forge world .
Are we likely to see some 2-3k games in the future?
As you can fit 5 of these in an 1850pt game is the future looking tough for non imperials?
I'll wait for the inevitable variants to be released from FW before committing - I've just ordered a load of tech thralls so now have way too much to paint before buying more

The thing about Tyranids is this- Certain models have been given the bulky or very bulky categorising. Now this could be for completions sake, or so opposing red terrors can't eat certain things, or for Apocolypse games. But these categorisations are normally reserved for transports- but Nids don't have transports? Yet?
What about a future LoW release for our gribbly friendly bugs. Something big- like a Dominatrix?! Mentioned in the book and so very fluffy. Maybe the first Lady of War?
(note- this is complete speculation and wishlisting)

bulky size also refers to being able to fit in buildings though, and things like the wall of martyrs has a occupying capacity i believe.

For the folks buying these, what legio are you painting them?
My mechanicum forces are all being centred around the fire wasps. Just because I'm building a 30k force that was present at the siege of terra and red, black and yellow is a cool scheme.
The black and white scheme from the badab war campaign titans looks equally cool yet simple.

So still not got my hands on the rules but read latest WD 'battle report' these look cool. But would you be happy to see one across the table on a normal 'pick up game'?
More and more I think you need to have a chat before the game with all the army options out there. What do you guys think?

If it takes up 25% of the points cost I wouldn't have a problem as its a huge points sink.
I won't be running one of these as I think fortifications and void shields are a better way to go until you hit 3000pt lists and then the two laser destroyer toting warhound comes in for overkill.
If people are using a 5 x knight list then digging in and having las cannons/vanquishers/void shields etc will see you through. It's only 6 HP and its not AV14 so it's not indestructible. I'd imagine ork hordes will pin these for you to win on objective as would the nids
