Can someone clarify boxed for me please?

My understanding from memory is that a model is "boxed" when its last hit point is removed. This is important for abilities that trigger when a model is "boxed". It may remove a boxed model from play preventing tough roles or soul tokens being generated or may trigger other actions like self sacrifice or martyrdom. Would have to re read the rules though

Found this on Battle College Disabled, Boxed, and Destroyed (or; what to do when your health runs out)
Death in Warmachine and Hordes is a rather complicated process. Every model goes through three stages of death once its health reaches 0. First, it is "Disabled"; then, it is "Boxed", then it is "Destroyed" and finally it is "Removed from table".
Why does the game need such a complicated system, you ask? Because of clashing effects. Here's an example; let's say a Trollblood army is up against a Cryx force, and a Dire Troll Mauler delivers a killing blow to a Bloodgorger with a Skarlock Thrall less than 2" away. Now, let's go through the abilities;
1.Disabled: The grunt is Disabled first. This triggers its Tough ability, and it rolls a d6 to not die. 2.Boxed: If the grunt fails its Tough roll, then it is Boxed. This triggers the Mauler's Snacking ability; the Dire Troll can eat the grunt to heal d3 damage points (which also removes the grunt from play but the Mauler needs to be damaged to actually be able to heal and therefore use snacking. No damage - no snacking). 3.Destroyed: If the Dire Troll is on full health, or doesn't feel hungry, then the grunt is Destroyed. This triggers the Soul Taker ability on the Skarlock; the Thrall gets a soul token and the grunt is removed from table.

Spot on. It is important when models have specific abilities, especially things like Tough and Snacking. Also not that removed from play or removed from the table can occur at different times and stop the Disabled/Boxed/Destroyed effects transpiring.

Line of sight No matter how large shooting model is I may not shoot another model if there are intervening models that means you can not draw line of sight from one part of the base to another, you can however shoot it if the target is bigger than the models in front the only things that ignore this are arching fire I believe and phantom Hunter

You're right Adam, it's the target model that is important, not the model shooting. It really doesn't help when the people teaching you the rules interpret them backwards, making the firing model's base the one taken into account! It really does become useful having units/models that can knockdown/place/remove intervening models. Elevation (being on a hill 1"+ higher) will get around this too.
To be completely clear, the intervening models need to completely block LOS to the target model. If you can see any part of the target's base, no matter how little, it can be targeted.
Arcing fire can ignore intervening models except those within 1" of the target model. Phantom Hunter/Ghost Shot are just awesome having no LOS restrictions.

Also with model size, remember that each base (small, mediu, large & huge) have an attributed volume/height to refer to when drawing line of sight. There is a model height guide on the spray template.

Adam re you saying you did not have line of site to a colossal because there were small based models in the way ?

I thought colossals had diff rules re los. Eitherway, of they are the target model, its their volume that counts and its way bigger than anything else. I recon los would have been no problem to the colossal

A potentially useful one for hordes players. If your warcaster is subject to continuous fire then camping (at least) one focus DOES allow you to use it to transfer the damage caused when the continuous effect is resolved in the next maintenance phase. (This ruling from Battle College and the PP forum). This might stop your caster getting burned/corroded to death.

One that I've learned from a recent game is that a crippled movement system does NOT prevent you from moving. It actually does the following:
Base Def becomes 7 No running No charging If it is crippled during a charge, slam or trample, it stops advancing and activation ends.
