i wouldnt mind a lot of the historical side of things but spare time is a limitation for me and with my 2 main armies needing love i think i can only push out to FOW the 15mm scale should give a greater perspective on the epic size of some battles surely though?

I would be interested in observing/demo game at some point in the future. I obtained a secondhand copy of the rules and beginer guide from the open fire box set and would like to see how the game plays.

I'm more than happy to put on a demo game next week and answering any questions I can.
The battles can be as many or as few points as you want, the common amount seems to be 1750 which is the tournament amount. You are also limited on the army lists (it has been described as ww2 space marine due to having the best supported companies ever). As a taster game will probably look at around 1000pts but that would be subject to a playable and enjoyable force.
Something's to consider are which time frame (early, mid or late) interests you, which nation and what main force ie tanks armoured or infantry. I have most of the books and will bring some with me.
Bolt action is a lot different than FoW btw. I do have a few figures for it but not many and don't have the rules yet either, but I will at some point invest in them both.

Sounds great, I've got a 1k game with Emily arranged but it should be over pretty quickly. I'm interested in running a hetzer based list so which time period is appropriate for that? I love sturmtigers too so I'd love a quick butchers over the rules and where's good to start. I definitely don't want to play yanks. I'm a toss up between Russians and Germans so will see

Hetzers are late war, they are also used by the Hungarians as well, I'll bring the relevant book and a couple of others so you can have a look. I'll also bring the rules down.
